The Dr. Salauddin Chopdar Foundation is playing a significant role in social service and the medical field. This foundation was established by his sons, Dr. Sattar Diwan, M.D. Chopdar, and Salim Diwan, to further the social work he had done. The organization is continuously working for health, education, de-addiction, marriage of poor girls, disaster relief, financial assistance to the needy, and the upliftment of society.
Regarding medical services under the Foundation, a multi-specialty hospital is being built, which will operate on a "no profit, no loss" basis. High-quality medical services will be made available to people of all classes in this hospital. In addition, the Foundation demonstrated selfless service during the Corona pandemic. During this crisis, 2000 Remdesivir injections were distributed free of charge, and oxygen, medicines, and other medical facilities were supplied to hospitals. 60 lakh rupees worth of ration material was distributed to provide relief to needy families. In 2012, the Foundation adopted the trauma ward of the BDK Hospital in Jhunjhunu district, and since then, the Foundation has taken responsibility for the complete care of this ward.
The de-addiction campaign is also being run very effectively by the Dr. Salauddin Chopdar Foundation. So far, more than 20 lakh people have been freed from addiction across the country. Under the "Drug-Free India" campaign, free medical camps are organized with the help of 1,60,000 doctors on the last Sunday of every month, where free medicine is given to drug users and they are counseled. Awareness campaigns on de-addiction are conducted by visiting schools and colleges so that the youth can be saved from the side effects of drugs.
The Foundation also has a special contribution to social work. Helping in the marriage of poor and helpless girls is one of the main tasks of the Foundation. Every year, the marriage of about 50 needy girls is performed according to their religion and customs. During the Corona pandemic, when even relatives were distancing themselves, the Foundation rose above caste and religion and served humanity by performing the last rites of more than 120 unclaimed bodies. Apart from this, financial assistance of about 1500 rupees per month is provided to about 500 needy families in Rajasthan and Maharashtra, so that they can fulfill their basic needs.
The Foundation is also making unprecedented contributions in the field of education. Scholarships worth more than 50 lakh rupees are distributed every year, so that poor and needy students can complete their education. Many government and private educational institutions have been equipped with modern facilities. Books, uniforms, and stationery are provided to children so that their studies are not hindered.
The Dr. Salauddin Chopdar Foundation has been honored with many awards at the state and national level for its excellent social work. In 2001, it was honored by Cabinet Minister Shri Hiralal Indora for social concern. On World No Tobacco Day, the Foundation received special honor for its outstanding contribution to the de-addiction campaign. In 2022, the Foundation was honored by Information and Public Relations Minister Dr. Subhash Garg for providing excellent services to society during the Corona pandemic.
Another important chapter was added to the Foundation's achievements when the Department of Posts, Government of India, issued a postage stamp in memory of Dr. Salauddin Chopdar in 2021. This honor is given by the Indian Postal Department to those great personalities who have made special contributions to society. Dr. Chopdar's name was included in the list of great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, and Subhash Chandra Bose, which is undoubtedly a matter of pride.
Adopting the mantra of "Nar Seva Hi Narayan Seva," the Dr. Salauddin Chopdar Foundation is continuously working for the betterment of society. This Foundation has become a ray of hope for the poor, needy, and helpless. The Foundation's initiatives in the fields of education, health, de-addiction, and social service have changed the lives of thousands of people, and it continues to pursue its mission.
